Recruitment
Recruitment is one of our top priorities at Indiana Zeta. Our goal is to find men that show potential for becoming great members in our house. While we do value someone's resume, so to speak, we are more interested in potential. We are looking for people who will show a passion for our house, people who can bring diversity and leadership to our brotherhood.

Recruitment Schedule
The following is the 2010 spring recruitment schedule. We do, however, practice year recruitment. If you miss out on the semester events and are still interested in joining, please contact the VP of recruitment.
Friday, January 8: Fraternity Open House, 5:00 pm
Meet at the Harre Union at 5:00 pm to take a tour for all of the Fraternities on the campus of Valparaiso University.
Sunday, January 10: Ice Bowl, 2:00 pm
Snow football on the law school field next to the house, with chili and NFL playoffs afterwards at the house.
Wednesday, January 13: Halo Night, 7:00 pm
We'll have an abundance of X-Box 360's and TVs linked together for what will surely be an epic battle.
Friday, January 15: Floor Hockey, 6:00 pm
Classic 2 on 2 floor hockey tournament at the SigEp house. Wings, chips, and soda provided.
Sunday, January 17: Chicago Wolves Game, 1:30 pm
Meet us at the Union Info-desk at 1:30 pm to take a trip to Chicago to see the Wolves take on Peoria in some intense ice-hockey.
Tuesday, January 19: Ping Pong/Foosball Tournaments, 7:00 pm
Single elimination tournament at the SigEp house. Free food for all, prizes for the champion.
Saturday, January 23: Paintball, 10:00 am
Meet at the SigEp house at 10:00 am for an afternoon of Paintball!
Sunday, January 24: Alumni Q & A, 6:00 pm
Join us and some of our alumni for wings from Buffalouies at the SigEp house. Come with any questions and an open mind towards what it is like to be a part of Greek Life as a SigEp
Thursday, January 28: Preference dinner

Recruitment Policies
Spring-Deferred Recruitment
Valparaiso has a policy that does not allow freshman to join a fraternity their first semester. We are also not allowed to have formal rush events. However, we are always interested in meeting new people. We are making a conscious effort to be visible on campus and making connections that help us get to know freshman well by the time rush period comes around.
Our Standards
Because we hold education in such high regard, we require a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.5 in order to receive a bid from our fraternity. After joining, all brothers must maintain a GPA of 2.75 in order to avoid academic probation. We are at Valparaiso to learn first and foremost, Sigma Phi Epsilon should only support this effort. If the fraternity becomes too much of a burden on a brother's studies, some of a brother's responsibilities and privileges are removed so that he can bring his grades back up.
